Sergey Nazarenko is a seasoned CEO and Board Director with over 25 years of experience in fixed-mobile telecom, with a strong focus on digital transformation in developing markets. He has a proven track record in leading high-performing teams, driving value growth strategies, and executing business transformations across telecom, IT, and cloud sectors.
As CEO of Tele2 Kazakhstan/Altel, Sergey oversees operations for 10 million subscribers and leads the rollout of 5G networks. Previously, he increased KazTransCom’s valuation by 27% and led a successful sale during challenging market conditions.
Sergey also served as CEO of CASPINET BV, a Netherlands-based company that secured an $80M investment for a submarine cable system in the Caspian Sea, and as COO at Azertelecom International in Azerbaijan, where he developed the $200M 'Digital Silk Way' transit route, projected to generate $1B in revenue.
At Kazakhtelecom, he delivered $350M in financial benefits, increased revenue, and reduced headcount by 27%. He was also instrumental in Kcell’s award-winning $525M IPO on the London Stock Exchange.
An INSEAD Global Executive MBA graduate, Sergey holds CISSP and CISA certifications in cybersecurity field and is an Honorary Telecom Worker in Kazakhstan.
