Autumn staging in Astana will reflect the AI era and convene key digital players from across Central Asia and around the world

London, 2 October 2026: The GSMA today announced the evolution of its annual M360 Eurasia event with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan to bring the event to Astana in autumn 2027.

The agreement reflects M360 Eurasia’s role in the region as a key moment in the year for stakeholders, innovators and policymakers to discuss connectivity, digital inclusion and regulation. Kazakhstan is well positioned to act as host within this diverse and evolving market.

Beeline Kazakhstan will act as host sponsor, continuing the event’s close working relationship with VEON Group following two years of partnership in Uzbekistan.

Shaping the conversation in an AI-driven world

In recent years, M360 Eurasia has grown in stature as the defining digital event in a region whose embrace of technology and its role in enabling opportunities continues to increase.

As new services underpinned by AI innovation grow in popularity and importance, particularly in the Central Asia market, convening the collective digital ecosystem in Astana will further advance cross-regional collaboration.

Kazakhstan’s domestic focus on AI is supported by new legislation and a national action plan. AI-Sana is developing AI skills and supporting new projects and start-ups, while Alem.ai brings together AI education, research, start-up support and practical government applications.

All of this would not be effective without the expansion of 5G, along with the launch of Central Asia’s first satellite-to-mobile services, a planned data centre cluster designed to scale to 1 GW, and a trans-Caspian fibre route linking Asian and European data networks.

Laszlo Toth, Head of Europe and Central Asia at the GSMA, comments: “The decision to bring M360 Eurasia to Kazakhstan reflects the strong and longstanding collaboration between the GSMA and the country’s digital ecosystem.

“From spectrum policy and 5G deployment to digital infrastructure, AI innovation and the development of local language AI capabilities, we have seen growing momentum in the region across a range of strategic priorities.

“Astana is a natural setting for this next chapter of M360 Eurasia, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers and innovators from across the region and beyond to help shape the future of the digital economy.”

Zhaslan Madiyev, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, comments: "Hosting the GSMA M360 Eurasia international forum in Astana in 2027 is a significant event that once again confirms Kazakhstan's status as a key digital and telecommunications hub in the region.

“The GSMA is the world's largest organisation representing leading mobile operators and shaping industry-wide standards. For our country, hosting M360 Eurasia will serve as an authoritative platform to strengthen international cooperation, attract investment, and advance infrastructure, telecom, and AI initiatives across Central Asia and beyond."

Jabbor Kayumov, Chief Executive Officer of Beeline Kazakhstan, comments: "Kazakhstan has developed a strong community of telco and digital companies, with innovations such as the recent launch of Starlink Mobile demonstrating the country’s ability to bring advanced connectivity solutions to the region. M360 Eurasia 2027 will provide an opportunity to share expertise with an international audience and will contribute to its further integration into the global technology ecosystem."
