Hackathon: Green and Digital Solutions for Central Asia

M360 Eurasia is excited to welcome the semi-final of the Green and Digital Solutions regional hackathon to Samarkand. 

Taking place on Thursday 21 May, the hackathon will bring together young innovators from across Central Asia with one aim: to bridge the gap between digital innovation and sustainable development in a region facing intensifying climate pressures. 

The hackathon is organised by the Kyrgyz State Technical University in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and GIZ PROGRESS.

What to expect

Join us to hear exciting pitches from the brightest up-and-coming tech disruptors as they battle for a place in the final.

Each will have developed digital solutions within the following four priority areas:

  • Solar and Energy Efficiency – digital tools for renewable energy integration and energy optimisation
     
  • Smart Water Management – digitalisation of water resource monitoring and distribution systems
     
  • Waste and Circular Economy – platforms and services enabling circular business models and waste reduction
     
  • Climate Data and Eco-monitoring – applications leveraging satellite imagery, drones, GIS analytics and digital twins.

What is the ITU?

The International Telecommunication Union is the United Nations specialised agency for digital technologies. They work towards harnessing innovation and connecting the world to ensure a better future for all.

ITU works to bring digital connectivity to everyone, providing a trusted, multilateral platform for brokering international agreements and standards, sharing knowledge, building capacity and working with members and partners to spread access to technology across the globe.
