Dr Ehfa earned her bachelor’s degree in Science, specializing in Medical Science from University of St Andrews, U.K. in 1997. She obtained her Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery Degree from Manchester University, U.K. in 2000. She had her early medical training in UK for 5 years and obtained her Membership from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2005. She completed her specialist training in Plastic Surgery at Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2012. Her field of specialization
includes Plastic Surgery, Burns and Wound Healing.
Currently, Dr Ehfa is the Founding Director of UNIMAS Teaching Hospital and Medical Centre, which is under development with the total cost of RM560 million. She is also the co-founder for the Academy for Silent Mentor (Sarawak) and sits as the Conjoint University Board and Council Member Academy for Silent Mentor Malaysia. Dr Ehfa is the trainer and local convenor for both The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and The Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. She sits in the Malaysian Qualifying Agency Accreditation Panel for Medical Programmes in Malaysia. She is also a reviewer for the Medical Journal of Malaysia, on the Editorial Team of the Surgical Dermatology Journal.
Her research interest lies primarily in wound healing and burns. She currently holds various grants in wound healing studies, and works closely with colleagues from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT) and Faculty of Resource Science and Technology (FRST), UNIMAS. Her project collaborations have worn various awards at UNIMAS Innovation and Technology Exposition (InTEX), CiTA Conference and MTEC.
As the Director of UNIMAS Teaching Hospital and Medical Centre, Dr Ehfa oversees the development on the hospital project, running of the clinical services and research works for UNIMAS Medical Centre. She has established several new clinical services for UNIMAS, which includes The Rehabilitation Centre, Wellness Clinic, Respiratory Medicine Specialist Clinic, Long-COVID Care Clinic, Haematology Specialist Clinic and Smoking Cessation Clinic.
Dr Ehfa has also successfully organised Pusat Pemberian Vaccine Mega IPT UNIMAS, which vaccinated up to 5,000 population a day and the total roll out was 108,000 doses within 6 weeks.
In the community, Dr Ehfa engages actively in volunteerism work providing healthcare to the underprivileged. She is a committed, reliable and well organsied team player.
