Speaker Bio

Anwar’s career in healthcare started in 2003, in Gleneagles KL, then Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur (PHKL), as head of Business Development and later becoming Head of Group Marketing for Malaysia.


He had a brief stint with Sime Darby Healthcare, before returning to the Pantai Group to head Pantai Hospital Ipoh, and subsequently CEO of PHKL, from 2013 to 2017.  Anwar has been a proponent of healthcare governance and quality and has been on the MSQH Board and an APHM board member for a 4th term, and currently its Honorary Secretary.   


He is an Executive Director in a subgroup of single specialty hospitals under Asia OneHealthcare, and was instrumental in the commissioning and development of the likes of CVSKL, ALTY Orthopaedic Hospital and Northern Heart Hospital in Penang. He has also recently taken on the additional role of Group Chief Commercial Officer for Asia OneHealthcare.
