Carl R. Cruz is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Globe Telecom Inc., the
Philippines’ leading digital solutions provider. A transformational leader with
over 30 years of global experience, Carl is dedicated to leveraging technology as
a catalyst for social and economic upliftment. Under Carl’s leadership, Globe is
executing a focused vision to defend its dominance in the mobile sector while
accelerating its momentum in broadband and consolidating a formidable
presence in the B2B space, all anchored by a relentless commitment to reliability
and customer-centricity.



Before taking the helm at Globe, Carl amassed a distinguished track record
across Africa and Asia. He served as CEO and Managing Director of Airtel Nigeria,
overseeing a subscriber base of 60 million. His tenure at Unilever was equally
impactful, holding managing director roles in West Africa and Sri Lanka, and
senior leadership positions in India, Thailand, and the Philippines. This diverse
background in both telecommunications and fast-moving consumer goods
(FMCG) allows Carl to navigate complex, high-growth markets with unique agility
and a global perspective.



An alumnus of De La Salle University with a degree in Marketing Management,
Carl is known for cultivating high-impact teams and a collaborative culture. His
vision is to transcend traditional connectivity, positioning Globe as the Philippines’
