Calvin Zhao is President of Huawei’s Wireless Network MAE Product Line, with end-to-end responsibility for its business operations, R&D, product planning, marketing, manufacturing, and customer service. He has more than 20 years of experience in wireless R&D and business management, with deep expertise in wireless network intelligence and industry transformation.
The business he leads focuses on the intelligent management and operation of mobile networks. It applies technologies such as generative AI, telecom foundation models, AI agents, and digital twins across network deployment, performance optimisation, fault management, service assurance, and energy efficiency. These capabilities help operators improve productivity, simplify operations, enhance customer experience, and accelerate their evolution towards Level 4 autonomous networks.
His experience is therefore highly relevant to the keynote theme. He can bring a business leadership perspective on embedding AI across end-to-end functions, including R&D, operations, and customer service. He can also share practical examples of how telecom operators are moving from isolated AI use cases towards scaled, AI-first transformation, including relevant insights and practices from ASEAN markets.
During the keynote, Mr. Zhao would also briefly introduce the OpenAN industry ecosystem initiative. This initiative aims to bring together operators, technology providers, and ecosystem partners to advance open multi-agent collaboration and accelerate the real-world adoption and business value of agentic AI in the telecom industry.
