Mohamed Tajul Mohamed Sultan

Mohamed Tajul Mohamed Sultan is the Chief Network Officer (CNO) of Telekom Malaysia (TM), responsible for the end-to-end strategy, planning, development, rollout and operations of TM’s nationwide network infrastructure.

With over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, he has played a key role in driving TM’s network transformation and technology evolution. His portfolio spans fixed and mobile networks, including fibre broadband, IP and optical networks, mobile infrastructure, international and submarine connectivity, as well as the platforms and systems that support TM’s integrated network ecosystem.

 

As TM advances its fixed-mobile convergence ambition, Tajul is leading the modernisation of its network towards a more programmable, cloud-enabled and intelligent architecture, enabling seamless connectivity and a consistent customer experience across fixed and mobile services.

 

A key focus of his leadership is the adoption of automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and autonomous network capabilities to transform how TM plans, builds and operates its network. This includes leveraging AI to improve network planning and optimisation, accelerate service delivery, enhance predictive and proactive assurance, and progressively enable self-healing and autonomous operations.

 

Through these initiatives, he continues to strengthen TM’s network as a resilient, intelligent and future-ready digital infrastructure platform, supporting TM’s aspiration to become a Digital Powerhouse by 2030 and enabling Malaysia’s increasingly AI-driven digital economy.
