Dr Mani Manimohan
Head of Digital Infrastructure Policy & Regulation, GSMA
Mani brings a diverse track record encompassing deep expertise in technology innovation, product strategy, and policy making, cultivated through significant roles at technology firms, tech start-ups, a regulatory authority, and a global industry body. At the GSMA, he leads global policy research and advocacy across a portfolio of digital infrastructure and regulatory themes. Early in his career, Mani pioneered statistical algorithms and software systems for cutting-edge products, notably contributing to the first 2G-3G handsets and multi-antenna MIMO systems. More recently, he has spearheaded impactful policy research on the digital economy, online platforms, 5G infrastructure, competition frameworks, fiscal policy and regulatory assessments—shaping over 50 policy outcomes worldwide and producing over 30 research reports. Mani is a Master’s Scholar of the University of Cambridge with a Starred First Class Honours and a PhD in Information Sciences.
