Beeline Uzbekistan Upgrades Samarkand Network Ahead of M360 Eurasia 2026
Beeline Uzbekistan is ramping up its telecommunications infrastructure in preparation for the M360 Eurasia 2026 international forum in Samarkand. Ahead of the event, the company has upgraded 20 base stations across key venue locations.
M360 Eurasia 2026 is one of the world's leading events in telecommunications and digital technology. The forum will take place in Uzbekistan for the second consecutive year, supported by the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Beeline Uzbekistan, and VEON Group. In 2025, the forum was held in Tashkent and brought together over 1,000 experts from 60 countries. This year, Samarkand takes center stage.
To ensure reliable connectivity for all attendees, Beeline Uzbekistan has undertaken an extensive network modernization effort at and around the forum venues. Of the 20 upgraded base stations, seven support Massive MIMO technology — an advanced solution that transmits signals across multiple antennas simultaneously, significantly boosting speeds and connection stability in high-density environments. The remaining 13 base stations operate on the LTE 2600 standard, a frequency band optimized for large numbers of users accessing high-speed mobile internet at the same time. Combined, the upgrade delivers 98 logical sectors — independent coverage zones, each serving a distinct area of the city.
"M360 Eurasia is an opportunity to showcase the strength of Uzbekistan's telecom industry to an international audience. As a result of this work, network capacity has doubled, allowing thousands of forum participants to stay connected simultaneously without any drop in quality. Average download speeds have increased by 30%, ensuring stable video calls, fast file transfers, and seamless use of telecom services across the city. Our goal is to deliver connectivity that meets the highest standards of major international events," said Gediz Sezgin, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at Beeline Uzbekistan.
Preparations for M360 Eurasia 2026 go well beyond hardware installation. To fine-tune network performance, more than 19,000 individual parameters have been optimized — covering the technical configuration of each antenna and base station, including signal direction, power output, and other factors affecting connection quality. The project encompasses both the upgraded stations and the surrounding infrastructure.
The modernization effort extends beyond Samarkand itself. Work is also underway on eight base stations along the Tashkent–Samarkand–Bukhara railway corridor, four of which are already operational. Low-band frequencies of 850 and 900 MHz have been deployed along the route: these frequencies travel greater distances and penetrate obstacles more effectively, making them ideal for coverage along extended travel corridors. Forum participants traveling from the capital to Samarkand by high-speed train will stay connected throughout the entire journey.
